‘It’s not going to be pretty.’
‘It is going to get worse.’
‘It is going to explode and probably that will be good.’
These were comments uttered by President Trump from the Oval Office today about Obamacare, just after Trump’s spectacular fail in his promise to repeal and replace Obamacare.
Trump went on to blame the Democrats for his inability to close the deal on Trumpcare. Not only was this the first time I had witnessed a president speaking from the Oval Office spewing excuses and jabs at everyone who he thinks sabotaged his key campaign promise from coming true.
The worst thing about Trump’s response to the failure of Trumpcare is that he is just going to give up on it. He has apparently concluded that it will be better just to see Obamacare explode and hurt the people who need it.
Trump says he now wants to move on to his next stop on his legislative agenda–give tax cuts to all of his rich friends. His ‘friends’ better hope that maybe, just maybe, Trump can win at something he tries to do as president.
