Let’s start with the idea that the U.S. First Lady Melania Trump first refused to move into the White House. That fact, in itself, is reflective of the lack of respect Mrs. Trump has for the people her husband was elected to represent. I mean, really, you don’t want to move into the White House? I am not sure if there are many other people who wouldn’t want to move in, or shall I say, who wouldn’t understand that they have a gigantic obligation to the people of the United States to do so.
Of course, now the White House has walked this story back and they say that she will move in once Barron Trump is done with school. They had no choice but to say that because it really was disgusting that she indicated she would not move into America’s hallowed halls of freedom.
But, in all fairness–and speculation that maybe Melania really doesn’t like her husband, yet alone the office he holds–the president himself should be held to a much higher standard of respect for his office.
And yet, just yesterday, he had this to say about being President of the United States:
“I loved my previous life. I had so many things going. This is more work than in my previous life. I thought it would be easier.”
It is one thing to feel the weight of the highest office in the land on your shoulders, but quite another to complain publicly about holding it.
The Trump’s have done nothing but disrespect the office of President of the United States–except to work hard at making America a place where the average American will just find life to be harder.
