I loved the speech Republican President Ronald Reagan made when he referred to America as the ‘shining city on a hill’ on November 3, 1980:

“Let us resolve tonight that young Americans will always… find there a city of hope in a country that is free…. And let us resolve they will say of our day and our generation, we did keep the faith with our God, that we did act worthy of ourselves, that we did protect and pass on lovingly that shining city on a hill.”

Whether you were a Republican, Democrat or something else, that speech spoke to the heart of what America was founded upon and what we are all about.

That is why I find it so sad, that now, we have a president with no goals for keeping America great, but seemingly more and more concern about keeping himself and his family out of jail. This is not the America that waged war to gain freedom and Donald Trump is nowhere near the president such freedom deserves.
