White House special counsel Ty Cobb was blabbing about the Russia probe over lunch at a Washington steakhouse — and a New York Times reporter sitting just feet away caught several snippets of his conversation.

Cobb, who was brought on in July to handle the White House’s response to the Russia investigation, was caught “casually and loudly” discussing probe-related drama — and complaining about White House counsel Don McGahn — with President Trump’s personal lawyer, John Dowd.

Cobb said McGahn had “a couple documents locked in a safe” and suggested he wanted to see them, the reporter said.
