National Security Adviser John Bolton announced at a speech before the Federalist Society Monday that the U.S. will not cooperate with the International Criminal Courts, decrying the organization in his first public address since taking the job.

“We will not cooperate with the ICC,” Bolton said. “We will provide no assistance to the ICC. And we certainly will not join the ICC. We will let the ICC die on its own.”

Bolton called the ICC a “free-wheeling” global organization that unfairly treats the United States and undermines the Constitution by claiming to have authority over sovereign nations.
