So, while I was trying to understand why it is OK for it to be accepted that football player, Colin Kaepernick, can be castigated for standing up for what he believes is right, yet the world doesn’t agree, something new happened. I learned that a hero of many didn’t vote in the 2016 presidential election.
What is that about? A guy who has no problem risking his lucrative career in order to make a statement about what he believes, didn’t even vote?!
See, that is the problem with America right now. We all have an opinion or a point to make. But are we willing to really stand behind our beliefs, or are we just too afraid to do that?
Colin made me think, when he refused to stand up for the National Anthem, that he had a higher goal in mind, that he would do all he could to make that happen.
But now, we learn that he didn’t even vote. Let’s face it, even former president George W. Bush didn’t vote, but I always thought more of the NFL star.
