First, we learned Chip and Joanna Gaines of HGTV ‘Fixer Upper’ fame religiously attend a church that preaches the idea that gays are ‘sick’ and need to be ‘fixed.’ It was bad enough that the couple and the network refused to say whether Chip and Joanna share that belief, because it means they likely do.
Then today, another popular HGTV series, ‘Flip or Flop,’ has come under fire because host Tarek and Christina El Moussa are reported to be separating after an incident in May when police responded to “a call of a possibly suicidal male with a gun” at the couple’s home.
TMZ claims witnesses saw Tarek take a gun from his safe and leave his home. Officials caught up with the reality star who told authorities he was not intending to hurt himself but just wanted to “blow off some steam.” Police reportedly seized five guns from the El Moussa residence at the time.
Wow, where on earth did we go wrong.? I have always found this network to be a place to find solace in an ugly, mean world. HGTV has a heck of a lot of explaining to do right now.
