As I have written several times in the last couple of weeks, I had found solace in the fact that I could turn to HGTV after the incredibly surprising election of Donald Trump. As much of a political junkie as I am, I just needed a break from all of that and I tuned into the safe haven of HGTV.

You know what I mean, right? After all, my two favorite programs on the home improvement network were ‘Fixer Upper’ and ‘Flip or Flop.’

I may not be your conventional ‘family man,’ but I do believe in family and holding true to your core beliefs. So when I learned that the hosts of my two favorite HGTV programs, who seemed to exude the values I hold so dear, really just pretended to do so to make a quick buck, my heart sank to the basement.

Well, I am here to say, that this con game HGTV is promoting no longer holds value. Sell, renovate, list a home: all good. Use your kids and your supposed belief in family values to do that and make a profit: unacceptable.

HGTV is now on the way out and it is their own fault.
