The UK’s Ivanka Majic is more worried about Trump’s climate denial than his social media mistake.

Live by the tweet, learn by the tweet.

On Monday, Tweeter-in-Chief Donald Trump quoted a tweet praising his daughter Ivanka. But he used the wrong twitter handle @Ivanka (rather than @IvankaTrump).

Ivanka Majic, the UK Labour party’s former digital director and the person behind the @Ivanka handle, used the momentary attention to educate the president-elect on climate change.

“You’re a man with great responsibilities. May I suggest more care on Twitter and more time learning about #climatechange,” she tweeted back, along with a graphic on the overwhelming scientific consensus on climate change.

As Majic explained to the UK Guardian, “I’ve got my 15 minutes of fame and this is how I’m choosing to use it.”

She said Trump’s mistaken tweet didn’t trouble her compared to his mistaken views on science. “What is of more concern to me is that we have a president-elect who is a climate change denier,” she said.

Trump is an unrepentant denier of climate science. So are his major staff picks. That should concern all of us.
