Commercials are a necessary evil that most of us would rather skip through or ignore when we can. However, we can all acknowledge and appreciate good commercials whether they’re funny, helpful, or even heartwarming (i.e. that Budweiser commercial with the puppy). Unfortunately, not all ads are worthy of airtime during the Superbowl and I think we can all agree that sometimes it’s a better business decision to just save your money instead of making a commercial at all.
I find it offensive, when insurance companies, those who calculate how they can make a profit, mean as it may be, by putting commercials on TV that are supposed to be funny.
It seems to be the ‘thing’ to do with insurance companies. Flo from Progressive, the talking lizard from Geico, you name it.
But insurance is a serious financial instrument, not a joke. These companies think they can distract us from the ways they are screwing us by trying to make it funny.
I am not laughing, but the sad fact is that a lot of America will laugh at the insulting insurance commercials they will be inundated with during the Super Bowl, and probably by a crap policy as a result because, well, it is funny to watch a lizard with an Australian accent screw you with bad insurance.
